Creating a To-Do List

Students had to complete as many activities as they could within 8 minutes. They scored points based on the activities they completed. Students had to choose the order each activity was done. Many groups completed the activities with the highest points first. Some groups completed the easier activities first, before taking on the harder ones. Each group decided which activities would be priorities! Students then learned the strategy of creating to-do lists, and then using the ABC method to prioritize activities that need to be done first, second, and last. Just starting middle school--with seven classes can be overwhelming, but when we use proven strategies, we can make sure everything is getting done on our to-do list.
